Robin Sandfort
In this interactive walk, we’ll explore more than just beautiful scenery: We’ll witness firsthand how invasive alien plant species are quietly transforming our landscapes—and how AI is becoming a powerful new ally in the fight to protect biodiversity. This hands-on adventure will show us how artificial intelligence can help us detect biodiversity threats early, respond quickly, and support the sustainable management of ecosystems.
Robin Sandfort did work and study as a wildlife biologist at the University of Natural Resources and Life Science Vienna (BOKU) and the Austrian Academy of Sciences. He now works with his companies capreolus and micromacro as a conservation technologist, bridging the gap between classical biodiversity monitoring and the emerging use of AI in remote sensing, bioacoustics and monitoring of invasive alien species.
