Terms and Conditions
By registering for and attending TEDAI Vienna (the “Conference”), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
Code of Conduct
TEDAI Vienna follows the TED Conferences Code of Conduct.
Those attending TED events understand that they do so in a spirit of curiosity, open-mindedness, respect, and tolerance. TED does not tolerate harassment in any form. Participants agree to respect confidentiality and understand that the atmosphere at TED events is intended for high-level relationship building, not salesmanship.
TEDAI reserves the right to sanction or expel conference participants who violate these rules, without refund.
Any incidents regarding attendee behavior should be reported immediately to the designated Awareness Team on site. For more information, please refer to the full TED Conferences Code of Conduct.
Registration & Payment
All registrations must be completed in full and paid prior to the event. TEDAI reserves the right to cancel or revoke any registration that is unpaid, disputed, or found to be in violation of these Terms and Conditions.
Refund Policy
Conference passes are non-refundable, except as expressly outlined in the Transfers and Carryovers for Extenuating Circumstances sections below.
No refunds will be issued for:
- No-shows
- Partial attendance
- Travel disruptions
- Visa denials
- Personal scheduling conflicts
Transfers
If you are unable to attend the conference, you may request to transfer your pass to another individual, provided that:
- Full details of the proposed transfer are submitted via email to tedai-vienna@ted.com
- The transfer request is received at least two (2) weeks before the conference start date
Transfers are not confirmed until written confirmation is issued by TEDAI.
Carryovers for Extenuating Circumstances
If you are unable to attend the conference due to extenuating circumstances (including, but not limited to, medical reasons or family emergencies), you may be eligible to attend the same conference the following year, subject to approval.
To request a carryover:
- Submit a written request via email to tedai-vienna@ted.com
- Include supporting documentation
Carryovers are not confirmed until written confirmation is provided by TEDAI.
Once approved, the following conditions apply:
- Carryovers are valid only for the same conference the following year
- If the conference membership rate changes, you are responsible for any incremental cost
- Failure to pay the incremental cost within 30 days of notification will result in cancellation of the carried-over pass
Force Majeure
TEDAI shall not be held liable for failure or delay in performance resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, government actions, public health emergencies, labor disputes, or travel disruptions.
Photography, Video & Recording
By attending the conference, you acknowledge and agree that photography, audio, and video recording may occur. You grant TEDAI the right to use such recordings for promotional, educational, or archival purposes without compensation.
Badge Use & Access
Conference badges must be worn at all times within event spaces and may not be shared. TEDAI reserves the right to deny entry or remove any individual who fails to comply with badge or access policies.
Health & Safety
Attendees agree to comply with all applicable health, safety, and security measures in place during the event. Failure to comply may result in removal from the conference without refund.
Parents & Guardians
TEDAI Vienna is an 18+ event. Children, including infants, are not permitted within conference areas.
A private space for pumping and/or doctoring will be available for parents and guardians. For more information, please contact tedai-vienna@ted.com
Limitation of Liability
TEDAI is not responsible for personal injury, loss, theft, or damage to personal property occurring during the conference.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Austria.
