Gráinne Seoige

Gráinne Seoige is an Irish journalist, broadcaster and documentary maker with 30 years’ experience across all terrestrial Irish TV channels as well as Sky News, ITV and BBC in the UK. During her 2024 campaign for election to the Irish parliament, she was targeted with AI-generated non-consensual sexual imagery. She subsequently co-produced and presented DeepFake Ireland, broadcast on Virgin Media Television in October 2026. Drawing on her own experience and those of other contributors, the documentary examines the harm caused by this abuse and the responses of government, law enforcement and technology platforms. Gráinne has given evidence to an Irish parliamentary joint committee on this issue and her work raises awareness of the harm online abuse causes women and children, its consequences for women’s participation in public life, and the urgent need for effective protection and accountability.
